FC Barcelona - Realistic Transfer Targets

Image
FC Barcelona are being held back in the transfer window due to a Financial Crisis . The previous board has left the club in tatters. Despite the difficult situation, Koeman does need some players bolster the squad . Their are several players who are ageing and do need back up or replacing. This time, I will be going through three positions of need for Barcelona as stated in the media, analyse the players rumoured , some other shouts as well as my pick for in position. Although it is hard to find cheap deals and free transfers, I will be trying to assess and suggest some low-cost deals along with some interesting rumors . Some Barca B options will also be mentioned, but I won’t go too much into it owing to the reader’s interest. Midfielder   The Rumoured: Renato Sanches The Portuguese international has had quite a roller coaster of a career already. At the age of 23, he has already played in 4 different countries, for Benfica, Bayern, Swansea and Lille. Sanches is of cour...

My Euro 2020 Team of the Tournament

Image
With the international tournaments coming to a close , I have assessed all the Barcelona players and how they have fared at the Euros and Copa America. If you haven’t checked that out already, why not do so right now ? Now its time for some Non-Barcelona content . I will be drafting  Euro 2020 Team of the Tournament . Goalkeeper: Gianluigi Donnarumma Player of the tournament? Maybe not. But my goalkeeper of the tournament. He kept 3 clean sheets as well and has the second highest post-shot xG among the goalkeepers I have mentioned , behind only Hradecky. He has the 3 rd highest save percentage as well, only behind Pickford and Hradecky this time. Donnarumma did win the Euros and his penalty heroics was one of the ma...

FC Barcelona International Round-up

Image
Barcelona players have had quite the summer, with the likes of Messi and Aguero bringing home silverware and several players including Pedri , Busquets and Alba performing at exceptional levels . Including the new signings, 14 FC Barcelona players have represented their nations at the Euros or Copa America this summer. I’ll be assessing each one of them and their performances with their national teams. De Jong Although Netherlands crashed out of the Euros, that takes nothing away from De Jong’s performance in the tournament. He started all the games for the Dutch National Team and was good in the group stage games, but he was quite underwhelming just like the rest of the team against the Czech Republic. De Jong did play in a deeper role as a pivot, so we did see more of him controlling the tempo of the game. We didn’t see any of the kind of runs he was making cons...
