FC Barcelona vs Levante - 5 Key Takeaways

Image
Finally, some positivity and football to applaud and enjoy . Barcelona played exciting football and the prodigal son Ansu Fati marked his comeback with a superb goal. There were goals, brilliant one-twos, positional tweaks, fluid passes and much more. It couldn’t have gone much better for Barcelona tonight. Yes, its only Levante, but as off late we have struggled against these teams as well. We shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves because of one win, but there is a lot to analyze and get excited about from this match. Fluid Positioning Throughout his reign as Barcelona manager, Koeman has rightly been criticized for his tactics. Today though, was a completely different show. Everything, right from the starting line-up to the in-game tactics were perfect . Barcelona were extremely fluid in their play and the interchanging of positions during the game was seamless. On paper, it was a normal 4-3-3 , but on the pitch, it varied from the 4-2-3-1 to the 3-4-3. Busquets dropped bac...

FC Barcelona vs Bayern Munich - 5 Key Takeaways

Image
Barcelona’s last 8 Champions League defeats have come with at least a three goal margin ! That should tell everything about the transition phase Barcelona is going through. The Bayern Munich loss was expected but hard to take. We should be controlling the game but instead it was all about dropping deep and defending . On the face of it, it’s just another disappointing big loss in the Champions League, but there is much more to it. Here are my key takeaways from the match between FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich.   Follow the Philosophy  Despite all the hardships the club is going through financially, there is one thing that Ronald Koeman must follow, and that is the Barcelona Philosophy. Against Bayern, we were just looking to sit back and defend . We had accepted the loss before the game started. The 3-5-2 might be seen as a defensive approach, but really it isn’t. You look at Tuchel’s Chelsea who play a similar formation, more like a 3-4-3, but their wing backs are bomb...

Tier List: Ranking every single player from the FC Barcelona Squad

Image
Barcelona have had an underwhelming transfer window to say the least. The squad has quite certainly been weakened but as culers we should still be happy that we haven’t sacrificed our future with the likes of Pedri, Ansu Fati and Frenkie De Jong not being seen as potential sales to secure the club financially. I’m pretty sure you lot have had enough with transfer window reviews and analysis, so let’s do something different , a squad tier list ranking every single Barcelona player included in the squad. Find a New Club I don’t mean to disrespect Umtiti here, but it’s clear he has no place in this squad. With Pique, Garcia, Araujo, Lenglet and Mingueza all part of the first team, I don’t see Umtiti getting many minutes this season. But I do feel bad for him. He reportedly broke down in tears during a meeting with Laporta when accused of picking up a large wage despite hardly featuring. Umtiti did...

Més Que Un Club - Barça B y Barcelona Femení

Image
FC Barcelona’s first team is undeniably the main focus. But today the spotlight is on Barcelona Femení and Barça B. Més Que Un Club symbolizes the Barcelona philosophy. La Masia is one of the stepping-stones of the philosophy and it runs through all the Barcelona teams. This blog post is all about exploring these flourishing teams and giving them the attention they deserve. From key players to expectations , this blog post covers it all. Barça B  Over the years, La Masia’s quality is said to have fallen with not many players making the Barcelona first team. Any era would naturally struggle to meet expectations when trying to replicate a golden era filled with superstars including Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol and more. Big signings have also been made over the past several years making it the path to the first team very hard for the youngsters. But the past few seasons have been positive. Ansu Fati, Ri...
